SB 339 – CBD Only Bill Signed By Governor
Texas House and Senate Agree the Cannabis Is Medicine
CBD Only Bill (SB 339 / HB 892) was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott at 2pm today, Monday, June 1st – the very last day of the regular legislative session. These bills would allow Doctors to prescribe CBD to patients with intractable epilepsy. It is a limited and narrow bill but it is a statement that the cannabis plant is medicine, even in Texas. To all the intractable epilepsy patients that will be helped with CBD only medicine, we hope that you will be able access your medicine quickly and easily. For those of you that need whole plant cannabis, none of us are free if one of us our chained, We WILL still fight for you! We hope that at least some patients will find relief and that we will have a better ground work to implement whole plant cannabis program next session. We also hope that this movement by Texas will help push the issue at the Federal level.
