Jenn Michelle Pedini, Development Director for NORML – Jenn Michelle Pedini is the development director of NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, and serves as the executive director of the state affiliate, Virginia NORML. Jenn Michelle lobbies in Richmond and DC in support of expanding patient access to medical cannabis therapies, removing criminal penalties for personal possession, eliminating federal research barriers, and allowing states to set their own marijuana policies free from federal interference. Regarded as the foremost expert on Virginia marijuana policy, they are currently working to implement and expand the state’s regulatory model for the production of medical cannabis.
Jax Finkel, Executive Director for Texas NORML – Jax Finkel is Executive Director for Texas NORML, the Austin Chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML). She has been involved in cannabis law reform since 2005 and has been an official Board Member since 2006. In her tenor, Jax has given hundred of interviews and participated in many panel discussions and speaking engagements. She innovated the first ever cannabis-centric Voter’s Guide in 2012 and continues to prepare the Texas NORML Voters Guide for each election season. She created the curriculum and help organize and execute 16 regional advocacy trainings during 2015 and 2016. She works closely with many different cannabis groups and allies across the Lone Star state. Jax has spent several intensive session up at the Capitol pushing for cannabis law reform and building relationships with our Legislators. Cannabis law reform is her passion.
David Sloane, DFW area Criminal Defense Attorney – Prior to attending law school David Sloane was a Police Lieutenant with a strong background in criminal investigations and crime scene analysis. He has become respected and known as a formidable opponent in the courtroom for challenging misconduct or illegal actions by law enforcement. This former Police Lieutenant jumped ships and graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1996. David has over 20 years of experience as an attorney defending drug and marijuana (THC) possession, highway interdiction, manufacturing, and delivery cases throughout the state of Texas. David has been a member of the National NORML Legislative Committee since 1997 and is a sitting board member of DFWNORML since 2010. David Sloane is a member of the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the State Bar College, and has been one of the National Trial Lawyers top 100 National Trial Lawyers since 2014.
