URGENT ACTION: The Lt. Gov. is standing in the way of HB 63!

April 30, 2019 Jax Call to Action, News

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick took to Twitter today, declaring that Rep. Moody’s HB 63, which passed with a super majority in the House, is “dead upon arrival” in the Senate due to lack of support. We aren’t giving up! Let’s show him how much support the bill really has!

It is important that you let your senator know you support penalty reduction and reach out to the Lt. Governor’s office on this matter.

Email Lt. Governor Dan Patrick and ask him to reconsider his position!

Call the Lt. Governor’s office now! The office phone number is (512) 463-0001. Here is a script you can use:

“Hello, my name is ___. It has come to my attention that the Lieutenant Governor is standing in the way of important legislation, HB 63. This is a very important policy to me, which I believe should be instituted. Marijuana penalty reduction was supported by more than 80% of the Texas GOP when they voted to include the subject in their party platform. I am requesting that the Lieutenant Governor reconsider his position and allow for a hearing in the Senate on this bipartisan proposal.”

I want to thank each of you for helping maintain our momentum! We have a short window every two years to make laws changes and we must not stop until every option on the table has been exhausted.
Thank you for your dedication!
