Operation Trapped – Statewide ~ NOW – Many veterans in Texas want a safer alternative to harmful prescription medicine, which can lead to addiction to narcotics and an alarming number of overdose deaths every year. If you are like the thousands of Texas veterans who take cannabis to relieve the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic pain, or other service-related injuries, you are treated like a criminal in Texas. That is wrong, and your voice should be heard.  Texas NORML and Texans for Responsible Marijuana Policy want to send a message to state lawmakers that it’s time for a better option, and you can help. We have launched a one-year project to collect a single used prescription bottle from every state veteran who wants a safer alternative. Learn how to participate in Operation Trapped HERE.

Texas NORML’s 9^th Annual Texas Marijuana March (#TMM2016) – Saturday, May 14^th, 2016 – Come participate with Texas NORML in Austin, Texas as we march to the Texas Capitol Building in support of cannabis law reform. Help us bring attention to the failed Drug War and the failed drug policy of prohibition! We will meet at City Hall at NOON. The March will start at 12:40pm. #TMM2016 After Social – Saturday, May 14^th, 2016 ~ 4-8pm – After the big March and Rally, we will all get together to hang out! Join us! Our event will be at The Sidewinder and will start at 4pm. This is a FREE ALL AGES EVENT! There will be nonalcoholic (including iced coffee and Kampuchea on draft) as well as alcoholic drink options. This event is ADA accessible. No dogs allowed unless they are a registered service animal. There is some seating at the event but feel free to bring a chair if you would like. June Open Monthly Meeting – Wednesday, June 1^st, 2016 ~ 8pm – We hope you’ll join us for the FREE open monthly meeting taking place the FIRST Wednesday of EVERY month, at 8 pm at Flamingo Cantina, 515 East 6th Street, Austin, TX 78701. We’ll have a list of upcoming events that Texas NORML will be involved in, updates on some of our events this past month as well as the latest news from around Texas and the US about cannabis law reform. June Traveling Strategy Meeting – Wednesday, June 22^nd, 2016 ~ 6:30-8:30pm – Are you interested in meeting with Texas NORML representatives and supporters to have a group discussion and make plans for how we can and WILL change laws in Texas? Then join us at la Madeleine Round Rock Premium Outlets, 4401 Interstate 35 Frontage Rd #2002, Round Rock, TX 78664 from 6:30-8:30pm. We will discuss strategy, timelines, take questions and chat. We will be holding these meetings all over the greater Austin area over the next year.
